My media product is a promotion however other advertising tools are used by the BBC to promote Our Girl. Such as, behind the scenes clips and interviews available on BBC IPlayer and Youtube and an Our Girl page on the BBC website. On the Our Girl page, viewers can watch recent episodes, find information on how to purchase the series, follow the Our Girl action through social media and also find the soundtrack used in each episode.
There is also cross distribution to advertise Our Girl such as news pages on the Radio Times (A weekly television and radio programme listings magazine) and television reviews on The Guardian. Also, the use of the main character (Michelle Keegan) plays a large influence on the advertisement as she is a very well known and popular celebrity in the television and film industry in such programmes like 'Coronation Street' which is too a BBC programme.
International broadcast: Our Girl series 1 premiered in Australia on ABC on the 16th April 2015, In New Zealand on TVNZ on the 3rd May 2015 and In Sweden on SVT on the 15th June 2015. The series also premiered in Germany under the title 'Eine Frau an der Front' (A woman on the front line) and in France and Belgium where it premiered on ARTE on the 7th April 2016 under the title 'Molly, une femme au combat' (Molly, a woman in battle).
